Skate or Die.

I’ve always been a fan of skate videos and the Tony Hawk games, but I never really got into the actual skateboarding myself. I even had a skateboard in high school and would play around with it from time to time, but I was always just too scared to actually really try to learn it. Now with The Amazing Spider-Man‘s twist on Peter Parker as a skater and my, sort of, recent (re)infatuation with Nike SBs, I’ve been wanting to build and purchase a new skateboard more and more. And I think I will, especially with all these recent skate videos that I’ve been stumbling on.

Nike is currently running a skate campaign called “Skate Every Damn Day” and this video is the final installment. The video features Nike SB team skaters Paul Rodriguez, Eric Koston, Sean Malto, Alex Olson, Stefan Jonoski and Omar Salazar skating through the streets and parks of Shenzhen, China.

Filmmaker and director Sebastian Linda used a RED Epic camera to create a, sort of, re-interpretation of the classic skate video. The video is called “The Epic & The Beasts” and uses slow-motion footage to really show the detail and precision that it takes to pull off signature tricks. The video features skaters Tom Kleinschmidt, Richard Naumertat, Erik Grob, Octavio Trindade and David Raderecht.
